WOMAN UP - Affirm Your Worth
Women, you are not mistakes seeking for correction, but pearls worthy of extraordinary significance and admiration. When God skillfully designed you, He never intended for you to view yourselves less in importance than your male counterpart. As a priceless and highly valued treasure in God’s sight, never accept an expression or action from anyone that may suggest otherwise. On March 8, 2020, you celebrated International Women’s Day but during your time of celebration did you take time out to reflect on yourself and affirm how precious you are as a person, a partner, and a parent? If you did not, it's time to Woman Up and Affirm Your Worth.
When you affirm your worth as a person, you accept that you are fearfully and wonderfully designed by a caring and concerned Creator. There is no duplicate of you anywhere in the world. God chose you to be on the earth to fulfill a specific purpose which no one else is qualified to accomplish. God never made you half or a percentage of a woman. You are a whole person, fully loaded to do great things, hence you do not need any human being to make you complete. Accepting your looks, gifts, talents, and acquired skills should be a significant goal of yours and therefore do not believe you have to compete with anyone. Put a high rating on yourself no matter what your experiences may have been. Never see failing as a final destination, but use those times that you may have failed as opportunities to climb higher and grow stronger in pursuing God’s purpose for your life and for the people that He may place within your circle of influence. Never say never! Remember the most important human relationship you must have is with yourself. Develop a genuine love for yourself. If you cannot honestly accept yourself, it is impossible to accept other people.
When you affirm your worth as a partner, always see yourself not first linked legally to your husband, but bonded together by a unique divine calling to work with God and your spouse to help foster a productive and progressive home environment. Visualize your marriage as the God-established backbone for a cohesive society. Understand your marriage requires ingredients such as unreserved commitment, love that is unconditional, a fidelity that is firm, deep sharing that is genuine, a respect that is solid and growing intimacy that is vital. It is always a wonderful thing to have a husband and wife work together to fulfill God’s purpose. Teamwork always works. Be an excellent contributor not just for your house which consists of material things such as wood and concrete, but more so to your home which has more durable material like unconditional love, peace, care, compassion, understanding and joy.
When you affirm your worth as a parent, see your responsibility as teaching your children how to live wisely in a warring world. Expose them to the dynamics of their sexuality. Educate them on business principles. Fashion them to be independent in their thinking so that the chances of being abused by male or female vultures would be very slim. Show them how valuable and special they are in this world. Help them carve a path of excellence in all they do. Warn them about the pitfalls of life and empower them by example and precepts on how to go through their valleys of despair and despondency. Listen to them. Play, laugh and sing with them. Share their joys and sorrows, successes and failures, trials and triumphs. Above all, anchor them in a solid relationship with the God who gives them the power to live, move and accomplish many things. These actions will make you an outstanding role model in your children’s eyes. The chances of your offspring growing up to speak highly of you and relish in a legacy of excellence you give them to embrace are very great.
Loretta Young was correct when she remarked: “A charming woman... doesn't follow the crowd. She is herself.” What a profound statement. Women do likewise and affirm your worth today.
