Laurel is a trained social worker with over 10 years’ experience delivering successful juvenile justice system reform locally, regionally as well as internationally. She has managed and implemented interventions and support services primarily for at risk youth, as well as with adult males involved in the justice system. Using a solution-focused approach, Laurel specializes in customizing and facilitating rehabilitative interventions for youth and adults at risk of entering the justice system, as well as those already involved. She provides training for employees working in the justice system, affiliated NGOs and other organizations.
Laurel has experience in the area of gender-based violence, facilitating programs for men who have engaged in partner violence. In addition to providing counselling at Family Heartbeat International Network, Laurel serves as a member of the Board of Directors. She also and provides program development and consulting services specific to the justice sector. |
