Think of it, every family goes through times of severe challenge, some of which overwhelm their ability to cope. For over 35 years I have devoted time and energy to working with families to help them cope with, and in many cases overcome distressful experiences. I love what I do. Seeing lives positively transformed has been my greatest joy.
Coming alongside young people, spouses, employers, employees, the religious community to help them transition from traumatic and related incidences required my applying myself to disciplines such as Psychological First-Aid, Critical Incident Stress Management, Dynamics of Family Life, suicide Prevention, intervention and Post-Vention and interconnected subjects.
My educational background includes a MSc in Christian Counselling and Psychology from Georgetown Wesleyan University, USA, Associate Degree in Applied Arts – Psychology from the Barbados Community College, Certified Specialized Training in Workplace And Industrial Application
Crisis Intervention from the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, USA., Certificate - Enhancing Mental Health of Family, Strategies for Intervention from Howard University School of Social Work. Certificate – Psychology of Interpersonal Relationship and Communication.
Conducted empowerment workshops for Management and Staff of the Psychiatric Hospital as well as a variety of Businesses which include the High Court of Justice and Global Bank of Commerce Ltd in Antigua; The Emergency Staff - Cayman Islands, Sandals Barbados and Barbados Government Information Service (GIS). Nationally I have also successfully brought together thousands of youth and Family members to examine critical family issues.
