Get Your Heart Fixed
Every human being needs heart surgery. I am not talking about physical heart surgery but “inner heart” surgery, the kind that is performed within a diseased mind. Numerous healthy as well as harmful thoughts seek to invade the mind on a daily basis. The wholesome thoughts if embraced and practiced on a continual basis have the capability of reaping great moral and other benefits to the recipient as well as those within his or her sphere of influence. The harmful thoughts on the other hand, if given the opportunity to take root, possess the potential to create “diseased tumors” with damaging effects.
I observed that over 2000 years ago Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity, identified numerous malignant growths that can be found within mankind’s inner heart. They still continue to create major health problems for humanity today. He said “For from within, [that is] out the heart of men (mankind), come base and malevolent thoughts and schemes, acts of sexual immorality, thefts, murders, adulteries, acts of greed and covetousness, wickedness, deceit, unrestrained conduct, envy and jealousy, slander and profanity, arrogance and self-righteousness and foolishness (poor judgment). All these evil things [schemes and desires] come from within and defile and dishonor the man.” (St. Mark 7: 21- 23).
To deny the reality of the above mentioned inner human ailments displaying themselves on the stage of mankind’s way of life, would be dishonest to say the least.
You cannot permanently prevent them from coming to your mind; however, you can decide whether or not you want to willingly swing open the gate of your mind and extend an invitation to permit them to determine your expressions or actions. You can make a choice to frustrate the thoughts when they attack and be victorious over them, or permit them to instantly or gradually dominate your life on a whole. Allowing less than wholesome thoughts to influence the decisions you make, may cause you to harm yourself or other individuals. You need an “inner heart” specialist to perform the correct kind of procedure to help you adequately counter the powerful thoughts that have the potential to cripple your life.
As a youngster while growing up, I had difficulty in fighting off some of the powerful thoughts that attacked my mind on a regular basis. Even with my best human efforts I found myself still constantly yielding to some of those negative thoughts. I reluctantly admitted that I had an inner heart disease and needed help. At 16 years of age I exposed my diseased inner heart to an experienced heart specialist, Jesus Christ whose remarkable successful track record was known far and wide. I exercised my faith and confidence in His ability to fixed me up, and that He did. All it cost me was an act of faith as I prayed and asked Him to transform my inner being.
I am now a transformed person with a renewed mind. Theodore Roosevelt said: “In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.” I made the decision to do the right thing and my surgeon has implanted in me the ammunition, not to stop the sometimes negative thoughts from coming, but to block them from becoming a part of my lifestyle. During my 50 years after inner heart surgery there were times I was not vigilant enough and allowed a negative thought to slip through. I always tried to quickly seek my Surgeon’s help, correct that fault and move on.
After any surgery, adopting a healthy lifestyle is crucial. My Surgeon gave me His carefully written Manual, The Holy Bible which contains excellent principles to maintain such a lifestyle. It teaches how you should adopt morally sound habits; practice what God accepts; actively seek out God’s plan for your life and develop a reservoir of positive thoughts which have the ability to chase away negative unhealthy thoughts.
